Partners in Transformation” is the new CWR tagline. CWR is blessed with phenomenal partners God is using to bring about the transformation of individuals, families, and communities. In order to strengthen and deepen these partnerships and to monitor CWR funded projects, our director, Dave Husby, tries to visit CWR partners every one to two years.

In September, Dave visited water, agricultural, and education projects with the Kenya Covenant Church. He also visited Jitokeze, a women’s empowerment through agricultural development program in West Pokot. Continue Reading »

TLC multipurpose building foundation

CWR funds support the Tutorial Learning Center (TLC) in Thailand. This project allows at-risk Thai children to receive an education. This education gives them and their families hope for the future.

The TLC has received funds for building a new multipurpose building. Currently, the foundations, posts, and flooring for the building are complete. This new building will house a computer lab for the student’s study, a classroom for English language learning, a workshop for manufacturing technology tools and a communications center for enabling distance learning at the TLC via the internet. Our peace-making project in Mexico serves many different people, including women and children, young and old, educated and uneducated, with English classes, computer classes, a women’s group, and a youth group. Below are a number of testimonies about how participation has impacted the lives of those who attend the Foundation.

From participants in the English classes:

“My name is Sergio and I am Imelda’s father. I want to thank especially the English teachers, because thanks to you and the Foundation, these classes now are available for our children.  This will be very important later when they want to study in high school or even college. Thank you, because otherwise it is very difficult for us because school is very expensive and is not available to us. So thank you very much”.

But we don’t often post about how life transformation takes place for those who make the projects possible.

We just received an update from our recycling for education savings program in Thailand, and in that update they included a story about a volunteer whose life was transformed by God because of his participation in the project. 19-year old Jaran is a second year student at the University of Tak in Thailand. He took a trip to Bangkok to volunteer at the recycling program in Chumchon, where he offered his time teaching Thai musical instruments for two weeks. He loved the ministry so much that he decided to become a Christian because of the love he experienced from the Christian people he met there.  Continue Reading »
