Covenant World Relief continues to respond to the devastating violence in the east of the DR Congo with our partner HEAL Africa.

Albetina, a patient at HEAL Africa, says “We don’t know what will happen next, and we don’t know what everyone else thinks, but we only want peace, no matter who leads us.”

10 year old Kakule was making his 11km daily walk to Goma from a refugee camp when he was struck which resulted in his arm being amputated. It is unclear if he was struck by shrapnel or a grenade explosion. He is in a fragile state since the attack.

Dr. Lussy, a doctor with HEAL Africa, writes, “A huge terror descended on the city and on HEAL Africa. Everyone wanted to get out of town  but we realized that we are doctors, that there would be wounded people and that we could not leave.”

Please pray for HEAL Africa and for the DR Congo. Pray for peace. Pray for healing for those who have been wounded physically and for all who have been wounded emotionally.

Give to support our disaster response so we can respond immediately in these situations. Give to support our long-term projects with HEAL Africa that provide healing, health and wholeness one community at a time.
