Since being called as the director of Covenant World Relief in May, I have come to appreciate on a new level the sixty-year history of CWR and am learning more about our many partners around the world. ECC churches and individuals have a long history of prioritizing compassion, mercy, and justice and I am honored to serve as we continue with these priorities. Having spent nearly twenty-five years in Asia with Covenant World Mission, the last ten as the regional coordinator, I have witnessed first-hand the tremendous work that CWR has accomplished through Covenant churches in Asia and other international partners. I now have the privilege to travel and meet other partners around the world. Together with these partners, CWR is providing relief in response to disaster, facilitating rehabilitation of devastated communities and implementing community development. As a result, individuals, families and communities are being transformed.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to Jim Sundholm for his many years of service as the CWR director; for his visionary leadership to expand and deepen the ministry of CWR, for the way in which he models compassion for the poor and hurting, and for his ongoing support for me during this time of transition.
I would also like to sincerely thank all of you who so faithfully and generously support Covenant World Relief as together we seek to demonstrate the love of Christ to the poor, the marginalized, and the powerless.
Serving in the Kingdom together,
Dave Husby
Glad to have you on board, Dave! Looking forward to hearing from others.
