Covenant World Relief’s fiscal year ends January 31st so we are just wrapping up the end of the year and beginning to see final reports for last year. What a great year! Giving to Covenant World Relief for projects and general ministry was up in 2011 compared to 2010. Given the financial climate right now, we are very thankful that we have seen similar increases every year over the last for the past several years in a row. As always, 100% of your gift goes to ministry and 90% of your gift goes directly to ministry projects. Thank you for your faithful support and for choosing Covenant World Relief!

It is always hard to compare CWR giving in total from one year to the next because disasters impact us so much. In fact, the earthquake in Haiti raised significantly more than the earthquake in Japan, but we still saw very faithful giving from Covenanters this year to the earthquake in Japan. Our ministry in the Horn of Africa has not seen nearly as much giving, but the needs are so great. You can still give to our disaster relief efforts in East Africa here.

Even with strong giving in the past year, we’ve had to say no to some great projects or to cut back funding on the projects we were able to fund. So, as you consider your giving for 2012 please continue to give to Covenant World Relief. We would even request that you become a regular donor through monthly or quarterly debit (paper form available here or online here).

It is time to celebrate the ways you have made a difference in the world. Through your gifts, you have provided meals to the hungry, clothes to the naked, water to the thirsty and justice for the oppressed. We truly thank God for you.
