In a recent Covenant Companion article entitled “Before You Exit, Ensure You’re in the Right Seat,” Jelani Greenidge exhorts those “in positions of power to honest reflection and extensive auditing to reveal the ways we continue to unintentionally communicate to women that they’re not as qualified to lead.” Greenidge writes from his personal experience as an Associate Pastor who serves under a female lead pastor. He concretely notices and names the difference between holding an abstract position that women can lead in churches and actually making a way that their presence in pastoral leadership is normative.
Thanks Jelani for your insightful reflection and strong challenge.
