The 9th & 10th Grade Bible classes combined today, to do some role play learning of Leviticus Law.
After opening prayer, the teachers explained what they’re to do and who plays what role.

Some were chosen to be the Priests.

Others were chosen to be members of families.
Families were given different scenarios and had to learn from the Bible which type of sacrifice they’d need to have done, what they’d need to buy for the sacrifice.
Others were assigned the role of Sellers. The grain, oil, sheep, goats etc. were drawn on paper to represent the real thing.

And using “coins” (game pieces) families, some rich, some poor, purchased what was needed for the sacrifice.

Then it was up to the Priests where sacrifices were offered on the alter — (red deck chair).

The sacrificial animal has been slain, as indicated by red slash mark across the neck.
The class ended with debriefing — sharing what they learned through the exercise.
They came up with the same conclusion I remember discussing in a Bible study once…. what a noisy chaotic lot of activity filled the temple! And this was with just drawings of animals instead of the real thing!
How thankful we are that Jesus, “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” was our sacrifice once for all!
