Sports in the 1st quarter of the school year were Girls Basketball and Boys Soccer.
At the end of our season, we had a tournament for each, inviting 3 other teams to play. I don’t really have pics from those events because my time and attention was focused on concessions — selling hot dogs, burgers, and snackage for teams and spectators.
However, The American School of Yaounde (ASOY), our greatest rival when we play against them and fan when playing against another team, hosted their own tournament at the end of October. We switched between soccer field and basketball court to cheer and encourage RFIS teams.
The first game – ASOY (red) vs RFIS was played in rain — the whole game. We didn’t do so well.
After all the games were played, all teams lined up for awards. RFIS was 3rd of 4 🙂
Over at the basketball court, the girls played hard!
Placing 2nd of the 4 teams! I’m really proud of them, since several of these girls are in my (Janet’s) discipleship group!
It was a full day of cheering, playing, rain, sun, and enjoying ASOY’s concessions.
