June 2012 Prayer Update

For May praise God with us:

  1. The Lord is providing teachers for next year at Rain Forest International School.  There are still positions to fill – see below.
  2. Michelle completed her 2 AP exams: English and Biology.
  3. That much progress continues on the construction of the new UBAC Hostel.  The lower apartment is painted, and floors tiled.  Upstairs the walls are being plastered and ceilings are up on the main floor.  See details at the Hostel Construction blog.
  4. My friend Edna had a healthy baby boy on Sunday May 6 by natural delivery.
  5. For the safe arrival of Roy and Aleta Danforth and new missionaries Josh & Lori Shinar who arrived from the US May 22.  Danforths have gone to Gamboula, and Shinars are in the Far North of Cameroon with Free Church colleages Dave & Patsy Alfors for 3 months of concentrated Fulfulde language and culture study.
  6. That I was able to visit the 4 Central Africans who were hospitalized; and that the 3 with broken bones were operated on in Yaounde, and flown back to Bangui to recover.

For June Pray with us for:

  1. TEACHERS   Last report said we have teachers for all classes; but many are parents filling in for the year.  Pray that for the coming years we have “real” teachers for Rain Forest!
  2. For RFIS graduation, June 14.  And we celebrate Ben’s completion of elementary school with a dinner out June 9.  Next year all 3 Zieglettes will be at RFIS.
  3. For continued progress on the UBAC Hostel construction.  By the end of June we have to be moved out of the current hostel location.
  4. For many missionary colleagues coming and going in June.  Many families in the missionary community will be leaving; this big exodus is a difficult transition for us all.
Konroy & Heidi Boeckle complete their 2 year service and leave June 22;  Covenant missionaries Tim & Helen Smith will be coming for a visit to Cameroon (and EG) from Congo June 8; and next year’s hostel parents Dan & Karen Carlson arrive June 29.
  5. For David (British) and Eric (Swedish) who have been unjustly imprisoned in Bangui, CAR.  Pray for their freedom.
  6. 1st grader Jonah’s badly injured fingers.  Son of Wycliffe missionaries (Covenenters in Mission) needs healing, no infection, and peace for his busy parents preparing the family for a summer in the US.
  7. Ron and I celebrate our 18th anniversary on the 18th and Ron celebrates his (not 21st ) birthday on the 21st.
