Ethics – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

ethicsEthics – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

I finished Ethics by Dietrich Bonhoeffer a few weeks ago. It is not an easy book to be read, but I definitely recommend you to research about Dietrich Bonhoeffer and read some of his writings if you do not know him. Johnna told me about Dietrich Bonhoeffer a few years ago and since then I have been reading biographies, comments regarding his life and I have been getting to know some of  his writings.

I also recommend the movie “Agent of Grace” – good material to understand his life and position regarding The Nazis. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a Lutheran pastor and theologian. He became known due to his resistance to the Nazi regime. He was also involved in a plan to assassinate Hitler. He was executed in April 1945 at a Nazi concentration camp just 23 days before the German surrender.

“What is worse than doing evil, is being evil” (Ethics, p.67).
