Hello le monde!

I learned this phrase from a song that was popular about 14 years ago… you can watch the video here.

In the mean time, I am THRILLED to be writing in our blog again. I have moments when I can’t get in and I have wanted to write for a long time.

I (Johnna) just got back from Chicago where I was at the Midwinter conference for five days. This is a Covenant conference that had great speakers and seminars on various topics including Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, The Post Church Church and Courageous Curiosity. Grateful to serve with a group of people who continue to strive for wholistic ways of sharing the real good news in the world. In France, we are learning to be the “ear” and not always the “mouth”. So, this sharing of good news can look much more “passive” at times and we are grateful for this example of living out the Evangel that is different from some of the more damaging methods that have been spread throughout the world. Our friends have been burned by people who called themselves Christians and we want them to know that NO MATTER WHAT they believe, we will be their friends and walk with them on their journey.

In March, we are launching an online book study on Effective Intercultural Evangelism: Good News in a Diverse World by W. Jay Moon and W. Bud Simon. Fabio already read this and I’m looking forward to going through it, two chapters at a time, to learn ways of loving and serving those around us who are different than us.

How can we be bridges to those who do not think, look or act like us? How can we bridge opposing groups so they can understand one another a little bit better? How can we live out our faith in tangible ways, relying more on transformation than just the spreading or acquiring of information?

Grateful to be in France at this time studying intercultural relationships between immigrants and French nationals.

Thank you being with us on the journey!
Johnna
