The Rede Globo, or simply Globo, is a Brazilian television network. A few months ago, I watched a very interesting interview through one of its programs, the Milenio.
Mosab Hassan Yousef is a Palestinian and son of a Hamas founder and leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef. He worked undercover for Israel’s internal security service Shin Bet. In March 2010, he published his autobiography entitled Son of Hamas. He currently lives in California and is Christian.
Whoever knows me knows that I do not use apologetics when it comes to “Christianity” because I understand “Christianity” as one more religion among many others. “Christianity” is the fruit and result of the Emperor Constantine who institutionalized the “church” in the 4th Century.
Therefore, “Christianity”, as a religion like Islam and Judaism, has been one of, if not the main cause, for our wars and selfish ideologies since “forever”…
I am telling you that because Yousef was able to understand the truth when he met Jesus Christ; not the religion, not the “Christianity” but Jesus Christ’s principles and teachings which have changed his life and point of view.
It reminds me what John wrote in Revelation 21:22-23 “I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp”.
In his interview I appreciated how he said he “met a certain evangelist” without giving the name of the evangelist. He read the New Testament and learned how Jesus acted. He also talked about Jesus’ standard and how “war” is supposed to be overcome by loving our enemies, breaking our pride and embracing God’s grace and forgiveness.
Pay attention to his words because Yousef does not mention the name of the evangelist, he does not mention the name of the church, he does not reveal the names to anything because these things are not important at all.
Because there will be not any temple in the New Jerusalem!
Because in the New Jerusalem there will be only those ones who are clothed by His justice and grace!
Yousef just talks about his experience and life change.
This is what matters!
Basically, his main point in order to change what happens in Israel and Palestine has to do with unconditional love which is the fruit of God’s grace.
The documentary starts in Portuguese because it was made by Rede Globo. However, after 2 minutes of introduction in Portuguese talking about why Hamas is considered a terrorist group and after a brief summary of Yousef’s life, they start talking in English with Portuguese subtitles.
It is worth watching.
