Secret Angels at RFIS

There’s a tradition at RFIS the last week before Christmas break.  Each student and staff member who chooses to draws a name out of a hat, and that’s their “Secret Angel”.  For about 4 days your secret angel leaves treats or encouraging notes in your mailbox at school.  Nathan got some great toys, Michelle got candy, our kids and Ron gave mostly candy and chocolates.

On the last day of school, when all the exams were done, the students had a fun day of turning in text books, cleaning up rooms, and basic closure to the semester.  There were also fun activities, including the disclosure of their Secret Angels.  On this final day, each person brought a “grand finale” gift.

Ron participated as well, and the picture below is what was with his final gift, a pan of brownies.  His secret angel was a high school senior from Germany whose parents are working on a translation project in Chad.  I’m so proud of Ron; the work he does is a blessing to others.

“Merry Christmas Mr. Ziegelbauer
Thank you so much for everything you have done for this school.  You are a real blessing.  Have a good break.  (signed)
P.S.  Thanks for letting me dig the hole with the tractor”
