October 2010 Prayer Update

We’ve just enjoyed some time with Covenant missionary friends Roy & Aleta Danforth, here in Yaoundé after their vacation at the beach in Kribi. We also welcomed Paul Noren, who just arrived on Tuesday. The 3 of them were here the last week of Sept. Ron appreciated working with Roy and Paul on landscaping at the new RFIS site, planting around 30 trees and plants.

Praising God for answers to prayer in September:

1. Re: discernment teaching Kindergarten. Another mom is sharing the job with Janet, so she teaches 2 hours a day (Language Arts and Math) then the other mom teaches Science and Social Studies. Thankfully this leaves her free to work on other ministries.

2. Re: small group ministry. Janet meets with a group of 4 girls once a week. We’re studying Ephesians for the first 6 weeks.

3. Re: discernment with needy people coming to our door. This month a young girl came with her baby to our door needing help. We were able to pray with her and then reconnect her with her parents with help of the local police. Thanks to many who prayed us through her crisis.

4. Ron’s thankful that pieces of broken toilet seat were cleared from the sewer line – solving one of his maintenance issues this month. (cheap toilet seats)

5. We praise God in October for Michelle’s 15 years of life! That many already?! God is good.

Pray with us in October for these:

1. Safety for travelling students, and good family time during the school’s October break (first full week in Oct.)

2. As Janet works with short term Covenant missionary Heidi Boeckel to explore new ministry possibilities, pray for their meeting (as yet unscheduled) with a gentleman who is involved in orphan care and combating human trafficking.

3. Pray for continued safety in Ron’s work with machinery clearing away brush and leveling ground in preparation for landscaping. Ron spends a minimum of 10 hours a day working at RFIS and on the property where a new hostel will be built (as funds are available).
