Office Window Makeover

A counseling office is a place where confidential conversations take place. That’s been difficult with the old louvered windows. There were gaps for ventilation — and sound got through!

Louvered windows and metal shelf removed

This office next to mine now has a new sliding window. Sparks were flying the day they removed a metal plate and replaced it with rebar security bars.

The new sliding window is much more sound proof. The space below the new window was filled in with cement block.

The final step will be to paint the new part of the wall below the new window

And the old screen was put back into place. Looks like the other windows along this hallway, and provides greater confidentiality in counseling.

Now pray with us that God will call a full time school counselor for Rain Forest Int’l. School! The office is currently the “home’ of our chaplain, missionary colleague Mark Kato. But he’ll be in the US next school year. Our students benefit from someone being there for them on a regular basis to listen, talk them through transitions, culture stress, academic stress, and much more.
