Memorial Weekend Camping

Michelle, Ron and Nate enjoy snacks while watching the horsepull

One of our favorite Memorial Weekend traditions has been to go camping in beautiful Fountain, MI (east of Ludington).  It is the location of one of the best horsepulls you’ll ever see!  Teams of huge powerful horses pull thousands of pounds of cement and metal a few feet down a stretch of gravel road.  I don’t know what is more impressive, the horses, or those who control them.

Camping out with friends is also a part of the weekend tradition; tents, campfires, s’mores, Dad’s outdoor cooking, canoe trips, and fun with friends.   Thanks to the Fenners for inviting us and for starting this great tradition.
