Christmas 2013 was a time for family, fellowship, and freezing temps for us in Michigan.
The Saturday before Christmas we hosted a George Family Party with lots of good food, laughter, and fun… for those of us who were not hindered by the weather.

And before that party ended, another one began. Ron’s sister and her family arrived from Minnesota to spend a week with us.

Nathan flew off to Tulsa, OK to go on a ski trip in Colorado with a friend whose parents are missionaries in Cameroon. Meanwhile, the rest of us kept entertained with fun things to do in W. Michigan. For example…
When the sun came out, we did what many Michiganders did: went to the beach at Grand Haven!

One evening we drove through the beautiful Christmas light display over a mile long at the ball park.
We also visited the display of Christmas trees from around the world at Meijer Gardens.

The warmest place in the botanical garden is the greenhouse. We felt so much at home among the banana plants and orchids!

And of course, you can’t go to Meijer Garden without seeing the DeVinci American Horse… even when the temperature is below zero!
