May 2013 Prayer Update

The countdown seems to be speeding up.  May and June are very busy months at Rain Forest International School (RFIS) and particularly busy when we look at June 25 departure from Cameroon.  We look forward to re-connecting with family and friends like you in the coming year.  But first, there is much to do in preparation of the end of school year festivities, awards celebration, graduation, and getting our stuff packed down, moving out to the new duplex… finishing the duplex so we can move in to it!We appreciate prayer for good use of our time, and for the mix of emotions during this transition time.
.
For April praise God with us:
.
1.  April 1-5 all Covenant missionaries in Africa met together for Covenant Fellowship at Kribi, Cameroon.  We had a good time of fellowship and spiritual renewal.  All 40 participants had safe travel there and back.

2.  Wycliffe missionaries in Cameroon also have their annual retreat and business meetings the first part of April.  Praise God for that, as well as safe travel for their participants.

3.  Praise God that the French family who were kidnapped in February have been released and are safely back in France.  Continue to pray for their emotional healing.

4.  Praise God for progress on the duplex construction.  This month the roof is complete and much of the exterior walls are plastered.  Thankfully God has protected the workers – no injuries yet

5.   Praise God that the school carnival went well April 20; many activities and games, the students raised money for their classes.  Ron tended the zip-line again this year.  Thankfully there were no injuries.

For May Pray with us for:

.
1.  Pray for our Covenant and other missionary friends who have had to leave Central African Republic due to rebellion since Palm Sunday of this year.  Pray for wisdom and discernment in making short term and long term plans.

2.  Pray for Central Africans who continue to be traumatized by rebels and bandits taking advantage of an unstable government in CAR.  Pray for the future of this country, for peace and stability to be restored.

3.  Pray for continued good progress on the duplex construction.  We can begin to finish at least one side with plumbing, etc.  Expenses have exceeded expectations, so discernment is needed to prioritize remaining work.  Pray the funds stretch till at least one side of the duplex is finished.

4.  Pray for preparation of end of the year events at Rain Forest Int’l School – Senior Banquet May 25, school play production May 31-June 1.

5.  Pray that the Covenant missionaries who are coming to the close of their ministry terms in Africa will finish well, and make good transitions.  Paul & Sheryl Noren are now in MI after their 3 years in Congo and CAR.  June 25 we Ziegelbaurs leave Cameroon after this first term of 3 years.  Pray for patience, energy as we sort and pack, move from our current house to the (as yet not finished) new duplex.
.
Thank you for holding up our ministry through prayer.
