Container Delivery

One of our prayer requests lately has been for empty containers that we’ve purchased to be delivered.  The duplex Ron will be building this year is going to have 4 containers as the base / ground level / foundation. So far we have 2 of the containers.

First of 4 containers is in place where the duplex will be built

One is in place, one is being used for construction supplies.  When it arrived a few months ago it smelled like it had been used as a barn.  smelly!  After storing sacs of cement for some time, the smell is going away, thankfully.

Ron at the stinky barn container he's been using for construction supplies.

Recently a 3rd container was delivered.  Here’s what that looked like.

The empty container arrived on a truck with a crane attached for easy unloading

lifted up with a chain and off the truck

and ease it down to the ground

After they got the container off the truck, the truckers were thrilled to get some water from the garden hose to wash themselves (clothes and all).  No picture out of respect for privacy :o).  The truck had broken down on the road, so they had been literally “on the road” for several days waiting for repair parts – with no water to wash themselves.

Ron thanks our friend Moses who helped find and ship this container
It’s not yet in place for the construction.  The equipment needed for that has been sent to another constructiono project for Wycliffe in the Northwest.  So the prayer request remains – for the 4th container to be delivered.  It takes a lot of coordination – finding and purchasing a used container in good condition, and finding a transporter with a truck going in the right direction to get the container to us in Yaounde, and having the equipment to put it where it needs to go.  All this needs to happen rather quickly so we can get started on construction soon.  We trust God’s timing, but the waiting is not easy!
