June 2011 Prayer Update

1 June .  We’re nearing the end of the school year and today was a baccalaureate service for the graduating seniors. Praise God for their testimonies, some of whom have accepted Christ as a result of being at RFIS, others have grown in their faith over the years here.

For May praise God with us for

1. Michelle and 10th graders have had intense period of exams (IGCSE) needed for students from England and useful to others if they do well. Michelle studied very hard as she was not here in her 9th grade year to catch the preparatory classes especially in Science.

2. Ron is thankful for Roy Danforth, who on passing through Yaoundé with Aleta on their way to the US for a year of home assignment, brought over 50 flowering plants to add to the landscaping at RFIS.

3. Mission property in Central African Republic jointly owned by Covenant and Free Church has been sold, providing funds to start working on plans to build student and staff housing on our property adjacent to RFIS.

4. Good health for all the Zs!

Pray with us in June for:

1. RFIS students and staff to finish strong.

2. Michelle will be spending the summer in Grand Rapids, MI with her closest school friend, Kate. She will be leaving Yaoundé on a flight loaded with missionary friends June 10, the day after graduation. But, due to airline error, she is not travelling all the way to GR with a family we know – instead, she will go through Toronto to Chicago and on to GR ALONE! Pray that God will provide people along the way to help her make connecting flights, and so she won’t be bored and sad to travel alone.

3. Continue to pray for my friend whose husband is greatly influenced by his unbelieving mother and sister. Pray for their marriage and for summer plans (which now include many family members coming to stay with them in their 2 bedroom house).

4. Pray with me for discernment regarding how to give sustainable help to 2 Congolese refugee women. They are asking for help to start small businesses (tie dying cloth and smoking/drying fish to sell). I’m not asking for money to get them started, but for wisdom and discernment in how to advise them or help them to support their families.
