Last week over 5,000 high school students and staff gathered in Knoxville, TN to hear well known speakers and bands; to worship, attend workshops and participate in a variety of activities. Today, the young people from our church gave testimonies of God’s moving in their hearts and lives during that week. They were challenged to not just put on a Christian appearance, but to live out the radical love of Christ, affecting change in the world.
The students not only heard about such radical ways to live for Christ, but were given opportunities to put it into action. Before the end of the week they’d packed over 400,000 meals for Africa and donated over $100,000 to the Covenant Mission work in Thailand. Many came home motivated to actively participate in ministries of mercy and justice.
Praise God for challenging a new generation of believers to live for Him, to think outside themselves, and to be His ears, voice, hands and feet in the world. Following is a link to the Covenant Church web article, and more articles describing the week.
