What Ron’s up to Lately

The tree that fell on the wall at RFIS is now all cut up and the hole in the wall is repaired. Pictured are some of the guys Ron works with everyday keeping the buildings and grounds kept up at the Rain Forest International School.

Fire pit with chairs made from the fallen tree

Not one to waste anything, Ron used the wood from another fallen tree to make chairs.  He loves campfire pits with tree stump chairs – so he made one for the students just outside their “cafeteria”.

RFIS Basketball

Another project Ron’s been having the guys work on is painting the basketball courts.  He did a lot of research, thankful for “google” on dimensions, and regulations in order to plan out where to paint the lines.   Besides 2 basketball courts they’ve painted lines for 3 volleyball, 5 badminton and pickleball (what is that?), and still have to figure out team handball lines.

Grasses planted to stop erosion

And an ongoing project is the landscaping.  Lots of new grass has been planted to stop erosion on the hills around the campus.  There have also been lots of trees planted: fruit trees, decorative trees and flowering plants.  Thanks to Covenant missionaries Roy Danforth, Paul Noren and Karl Noren for all the help they gave in getting the grounds planted with new trees and plants.
