We Zs have a tradition — the high school grad gets to choose their trip home. This year Ben chose South Korea. What was he interested in doing there? See friends and eat food. He has a number of Korean friends from Rain Forest Int’l School.
Having a 9 hour layover in Bangkok gave us the chance to tour the city!
To get where we wanted to go, we had passes for the subway — aka The Seoul Train!
Seeing friends — current students who were in their passport country for summer break, and RFIS grads either on vaca in Korea or who are currently in university in Korea.

We went to lots of different kinds of restaurants. This was Seoul food like we’ve never had before 🙂

Besides seeing friends and eating food we did get in a tour of the DMZ and went hiking one day in the mountains of Seoul – beautiful place right in the city.

It was great to experience first hand the culture of several RFIS students. I came away with an appreciation of Korean foods, and a better understanding of Korean culture!
