How a Talipot Grows

December 2010, just a few months after we arrived in Yaounde to work at Rain Forest, our agriculture missionary friend Paul planted a very rare palm — one of the largest in the world. The Talipot Palm. It didn’t look like much then.

Now, May 2018, it has grown incredibly large, and still has not developped a solid trunk. We decided to reinact the planting of photo, having all the characters present — or at least sibling stand-ins.
