Last week we celebrated countries, cultures, languages and foods from around the world!
On Monday our Aussie students taught us some new phrases
Tuesday the Americans hosted a watermellon eating contest.
Wednesday was the parade of nations followed by activities galore…
Not knowing the song that goes with the game made it more challenging for students who tried — and everyone gave it a go!
Canadians taught curling — which is normally done on ice. But in Africa we improvised with a frisbee and brooms sweeping the dust away in its path.
On Thursday the Koreans taught a traditional game originating with children passing time in the gardens with a puffball like plant — kind of like hackey sack.
Friday the African students gave the annual fashion show displaying clothes they’d all had made with the same fabric. And a few of the students did a traditional dance.
The week ended with an international dinner and folk dance party hosted by the 11th Grade class.
We love to celebrate the diverse cultures from which our staff and students come. It’s a great week to learn new phrases, dances, music, games and activities. God is so creative!
