Back in May, upon our arrival to Gamboula, I discovered that the central pharmacy’s computer was very sick, with a huge cancerous looking blob in the middle of the screen:
We knew a friend from our home church in Davis, CA, was leading a vet student team out to Cameroon, and she had offered to bring things for us in her baggage. I quickly sent an SOS to friends in Davis and they responded by sending a brand new computer with our traveling friend. She was kind enough to bring the computer in her backpack, which protected it from who knows what kind of damage. Thank you again, Lorraine and Mike and Woody!
This is Mathias, the guy who runs the central pharmacy, with the brand new computer:
Doesn’t he look happy?!?!? He’s not only happy because of the new computer, he’s happy because we are FINALLY CAUGHT UP on our bookkeeping. I am his “technical counselor” and we have worked some long hours figuring out what we have and what we owe, getting things paid up and collected. Dr. Tim Wester helped greatly with balancing our account with our main medicines supplier in Bangui. I am so thankful to have the books in order, and just in time as the whole hospital system, under the Baptist national church, has an auditing team visiting this week from the capital! Great timing and thank you, Lord!
