On the road and packing!

We made it to California, and have been enjoying family and friends, we even had a turkey dinner! Yum! We packed up all our belongings (mostly household things like pots & pans & dishes) into this moving van/shipping container, finally relieving our friends, Bill & Judy Ostrom, of the burden in their barn! A word to the wise – if you try to save money by buying cheap storage bins, you will lose that money and more to replacing rat damaged items later! We learned that the hard way. We had learned that cardboard is delicious fodder for rats earlier on, but they also make their way into plastic containers that don’t quite seal properly. Oh well, it’s just stuff.
We will be travelling around California until June 1st, when we will fly to Indiana – whoo hoo – home of Josh & family, where we will settle for the year.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
