Industrial Arts Roof Update

Last time I wrote about this (click here for a reminder) was to introduce it — another in a series of What Keeps Ron Busy at RFIS.  There has bee progress, but my camera is not cooperating!  Took loads of pictures that did not work.  So here are more recent views of this project.

At the end of March they were digging out the back side of the Industrial Arts Area (aka “Garage”)

Then they dug out the containers along the side facing the basketball courts, to free up these containers to be raised up off the ground.

When each container is dug out of the ground, they use jacks to raise them up off the ground.

Some of the old footings on which the containers rested were damaged, broken or off center.  So they poured new footings — deeper, stronger, and better spaced.  The new footings also raise the containers higher off the ground to prevent termites getting into the wooden floors.

When all 3 sides (5 containers) are dug out, raised up and on their new footings, the roof structure can be started.  And we leave when?  Oh right!  June 25, that’s less than 2 months… Pray it all gets done before we leave!
