One, Two, Three Goals to start the Season

There are many things that can grab the attention of a group of people.  Since our arrival in Cameroon (way back in 1998) I have observed that SOCCER/FOOTBALL is a national obsession.  We see people wearing Cameroon jerseys on a regular basis both at school and around town.  The president often favors us with a holiday when the national team, Les Lions, win an important title.

So it is not surprising that a soccer game played on “the best field in Cameroon” grabs the attention of students, staff, parents and alumni.

And it was a good game (from the RFIS perspective) since the Senior Boys Goldencats won big … 3 -0!!

By the way this field has had both the women’s national team and the Under 17’s use it for practice.  Perhaps you would like to come play on this field?  Now is the time to start thinking about coming to Cameroon to teach next year.  As Jeff and I will be on home assignment in California, the school could use both a science teacher and a finance manager.

The women's national team came to practice and played our team. A good grass field is a rarity in this part of the world.
