We are so jazzed to have Josh, Lori, and Charlie (Charlotte) Shinar finally here at Gamboula with us. They have been on the continent since May, but were doing some preliminary Fulfulde study up in northern Cameroon. They have been here about a week now, and they are adjusting well. Lori, a nurse with a hope to reach out to the Fulani, has already been on rounds at the hospital. Josh, also wanting to minister to the Fulani, has been using his engineering background in the meantime helping to repair computers! They are both learning Sango this month, so that they can at least function in our area. Pray for them, for facility in language learning (Sango, Fulfulde, and did I mention they need at least a bit of French????!!!) Actually, Josh knows some French, and if they do indeed, at the end of this 2 year short term experience, want to come back career, they will go to France for French learning. Charlie is a bundle of cuteness and fun, she loves to point things out to us, but getting used to germs and meds hasn’t been ideal. She stays pretty cheerful through it all, though! Thank you, Lord, for this YOUNG couple. We dinosaurs were about ready to go extinct!
