Ramadan starts July 9th

Here are some  of our Fulani friends, and in just a few days they will start their month-long daytime fast period, Ramadan, or Suumaye in the local language here.  Please pray for dreams and visions for these dear ones, that the Savior would make himself known to them.

This is Hawaou, one of my Fulani friends; she is the one friend most likely to notice if I am getting NICE and FAT, using my ankles as an indicator.  She freely comments on it, truly believing it is a good thing! She’s giggling right now, probably because of my chubby ankles!  (o;

A’i Gaawi is probably my closest Fulani friend, the one who makes me laugh and cry so easily.  She lives a long way away now, up near our Jesus following Fulani friends, 2 days’ travel from our home.  I don’t get to see her very often, but she was just here because of a death in the family.  We had some good visits, but she has since returned to the north.  Please pray that she will understand how very much God loves her!

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
