Coming together

On May 18th, 30 children’s ministry volunteers and pastors from 10 Covenant churches came together for an afternoon of sharing and learning. Together we celebrated “Teacher Appreciation Day” and spent time talking about why and how we minister with children in our churches. It was a great time for churches that are just getting started to hear about the experiences of other churches, as well as for people coming from established churches to hear new ideas from the new church plants.

The major goals for 2013 for the Covenant’s children’s ministry committee in Medellin is to encourage, connect, and train children’s ministry volunteers and leaders. We are encouraged to see the participation of many churches, to see the enthusiasm of the people to work together and support one another. There is an expressed need to share resources, to network, and to encourage one another. Our next training session will be in July and will focus on “El Pacto con Dios” a children’s curriculum written by Covenant Church members in Latin America. Please pray that God would continue to build and strengthen this new network that is forming.
