Visiting churches

The past two weekends we’ve had the privelege of visiting two churches that have committed to partnering with us as we  return to Colombia and serve in church planting and leadership development. One of the churches is the church that I (Katie) grew up at. It was awesome to be able to go back and give testimony to how I am where I am today in many ways because of the formation and encouragement I received at Roseville Covenant Church. It was great to stand up there during the service and look out to see so many familiar faces of people who have been supporting us all along. After the service we were able toreconnect with people and meet some new friends. We are so thankful for the time and space they gave us (including the refreshments after the service) to share about Colombia and the ministry there.

Then this past weekend we visited Harbert Community Church in Sawyer, Michigan. We loved the opportunity to visit a new place and see a friend from the seminary who’s doing her internship at the church. We were so impressed with the pastors and staff of the church. We felt so welcomed and affirmed during our time there. They asked us to come forward and share with the congregation about how our minsitry will impact the Kingdom of God.  It was great to be able to share testimony of how God is already at work and the ways that we hope to serve in Colombia. After the service the pastors had us and other families over to their house for a bbq and we enjoyed getting to know some of the other families who attend the church. They even took us down to the beach (Lake Michigan). What a great way to end the day! We have been blessed to connect with these churches and look forward to partnering with other churches in the future.
