Recently at Discovery Bible Fellowship in Collinsville, Pastor Derk spoke on Faith. “Faith without thinking is dead”. What a unique and great quote. Just because we get saved doesn’t mean we throw our intelligence out the window. Think with the brain God gave you!. He also spoke of making a list at New Years and how we often think to accomplish these lists is to please God. This REALLY defined me! I love lists! But Pastor Derk said “The cross is the only way to please God. By sacrificing ourselves on the cross”. What a great statement! Even Mother Teresa was referenced by saying “Rarely have I had clarity but always I have had faith”. If every one of our passions is based in our beliefs then I personally have a lot of introspective discussions to have.
