P.S. On MI02.12.11

I thought some of you might be interested in seeing what a student wrote in response to her introduction to the concept of multiple intelligences and some of its implications in education: “In conclusion, I think schools all over the world would benefit by involving Howard Gardner’s ideas in education in order to develop children’s possibilities. I thought if this idea had been understood and implemented in Japan when I was elementary/junior high school, I may have more abilities and confidence in myself.” (Used with permission)

Her conclusion struck a deep chord similar to the one which made me write on MI in the earlier post. I’m on an informal mission to raise awareness in my small web of relationships here in Japan. The going is quite slow but the rewards are worth it.
