Two weeks ago our tidy city lives with paved roads, running water and ready internet were turned upside down as we helped lead a short term team from Cypress Church in California. We had been invited into a tiny town in northern Ecuador called Zancudo (mosquito-ville) to join local believers in their ministry for a week.
Here are some of the highlights of the trip in no particular order:
The amazing team!
Meeting new friends was a treat, this is me with Suzi and Randy and our tired morning faces.
The boat ride up with Sixto as captain.
Learning-playing-having fun.
Little cutie
Another little cutie who called himself “Chepi” , though I think it was just his self-adopted nick name.
Getting my hair fixed while getting to know some of the sweet girls.
River life.
Have boots will travel. You can tell by this picture that Cecilia is a hoot! We worked in the kitchen together and shared some therapeutic laughter.
The houses were either of wood planks or cement.
Libio, Joshua, Sixto and Chet, los 4 amigos and brothers in Christ.
Typical lunch: rice, lentil soup, fried egg and tomato salad.
The laundry room.
These men have skills!
Chocolate drying in the sun on the main road in Zancudo.
Some kind of cute monkey-pet.
We trust God for what He will continue to do in this community!
