Mother’s Day

Holidays can be especially hard due to the vast distance between us and our families. On these occasions we are even more aware of the grace of God in giving us friends who have adopted us into their families.

Our friends Diego and Janisa have taken us into their family, welcoming us with open arms and also delicious grilled meat. (Diego is from Argentina and good grilled meat is a priority). We see Christ exemplified through their loving acceptance. Yesterday, Mother’s Day, they invited us to a family get together where there was, as you may have guessed… grilled meat! The men gathered around the grill and the women bustled around the kitchen while the kids played around us. It was nourishing to the soul.
