Mother’s Day is just around the corner in the US. I know it was already celebrated in the UK and in some other places around the globe. I don’t mind celebrating multiple times! This holiday always makes me think of flowers and strawberries. Back when I was young, my siblings and I used to make my mother a special breakfast (at least I loved it) that involved a puffy french toast served with whipped cream and strawberries. As we were sometimes travelling it could be exciting trying to make this. There was the year in Spain when we had to whip cream with a fork!
My parents instilled in me a love for flowers and the creation seen in the natural world around us. This continues to this day as I love working in my garden and seeing the growth that comes.
During my growing up years, holidays in San Diego were often spent visiting the zoo. This picture reminds me of those days. Isn’t the mom and baby a cute reminder of Mother’s Day?
