What an amazing place this is, the United States of America. Sure, there are lots of issues to face and junk going on, BUT this is still an amazing place to live! We are thankful to be back in the states, and we celebrate the freedom, the development, the (relative) safety, and the prolific conveniences for everyday living! We think about C.A.R. and the long road ahead of them for peace and just basic needs for survival – what a contrast! We are thankful for those who gave up their lives to make this country free and strong.
So how do we celebrate Independence Day??? We enjoy fireworks of course! We went to Josh’s place of work, Culver Academy, and sat with lots of dear friends from Josh & Kimia’s church. We chatted and played games and snacked, and then, when it got dark enough, the show started! Here’s how the 3 granddaughters watched:
Note the papa’s thumbs strategically placed over Emrie’s ears!!! She kept saying “owee!”, but quieted down when the BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!’s were blocked a bit. She doesn’t look too happy here, but she was watching with less of a frown face before I flashed my camera in her face!
