January ended with a whirlwind. We finished up our very full month of January in California with the Covenant church in Modesto, and we enjoyed meeting with old friends and new. We shared many times in different venues and feel like the system Modesto employed with us was very good in getting us interacting with people. Meals were arranged and people who were interested signed up, so that each night we were with a group of 10-20 people, a great mix of younger and older, who were interested in hearing what was going on in the Central African Republic. What a blessing to be able to share with small groups and to answer questions and tell stories. Oh, the stories! Always some stories about God at work in lives, and sometimes some snake stories thrown in, which actually are testimonies to how the Lord protects us! We are so thankful for all the church families that support us, we couldn’t do what we do without you!
We flew from California to the annual Covenant pastors’ conference, called Midwinter, which this year took place in Chicago, IL. What a treat to see SO many friends and acquaintances, to worship and be fed, to learn some new ideas, and just be in the midst of what we have come to know as family.
