Happy birthday,… on and on

So, in our family, Roy’s usually the one who milks a birthday for all it’s worth.  This year I guess it’s my turn.  Seems like I’ve been celebrating for 3 weeks, starting in Calif. and even now I’m still getting messages on Facebook and cards in the mail.  I’m so grateful for family and friends who care!blog bday

Kimia came up with an awesome idea, she had the girls think of 61 things about me.  She wrote them on 61 beautiful pieces of paper, the girls drew pictures on the back of each one and then hid them all over the house.  I just found the last one today.  My two favorites are “thank you for showing us your wrinkles” and “thank you for being one of our favorite grandmas”.  LOL!blog bday 61

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
