Old Sturbridge Village and old friends!

Who knew that our dear friend, Linda J Schoonover, lives not even an hour from Woodstock, CT?  Who knew that her folks, Ernie and Viv Johnson, also our dear friends, were going to be with Linda and her family while we were right there in her neck of the woods?  Who knew that we’d have a free morning to spend with Ernie and Viv while Linda worked?  Who knew that we’d have a free evening to spend with Linda and her hubby and daughter?  We did have great fun! Who knew that our hosts in Woodstock would have free passes for Old Sturbridge village for a morning visit for the 4 of us?  We had a lovely day and great reunion with these buddies from Zaire/Congo days.  Thankful is what we are for the gift of friendship from the Creator who knew this all was going to happen!blog W Ernie Viv Linda

Old Sturbridge Village uses volunteers to display the way of life around 1830. I was surprised by the variety of goods available and the craftsmanship in all the handmade things.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
