Covenant Annual Meeting – Gather 2015

We went to the Covenant Annual Meeting last week – it was an awesome celebration of what’s going on in the Covenant all over the world.  We were delegates so we were involved in the business meetings, hearing about budgets and voting in officers and committee members.  We celebrated 3 amazing retirees: Debbie Blue, Evelyn Johnson, and Curt Peterson.  We witnessed the commissioning of new missionaries and the ordination of pastors.  BUT my favorite part of the meetings was hanging out with dear friends, like Tim & Helen Smith (photo courtesy of Peter Kim)time with buddies

and Florence Gustafson (though she was super busy with VIPs from the Congolese church).
blog buddies reunitedThere were many others we were able to share time and hugs with.  We are thankful for the Covenant and the many years we have been a part of it.  If you want to check out what went on, go to https://www.facebook.com/covchurch and check out the photos etc.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
