Yippee! Internet for the next year!

We are thankful and excited; we will have satellite internet for the coming year.  It is still not particularly fast, but it is a whole lot better than our other option, which is an almost non-existent dial-up system through our cell phone.   We do have to drive in to the mission to use the sat. internet, as our connection out at the farm is irreparable at this point in time.    We still have cell phone connectivity 24/7 at home on the farm, so we are happy campers!   We well remember the days when we depended on snailmail, and we would eagerly await a connection from the station where the MAF plane was kept.  There was usually at least a 6 week interval between  sending and receiving letters.  Boy, times have changed!  Thank you for your prayers for us, for continued good communications with the outside world.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
