What do YOU do when you turn 60??

Okay, so this email is 2 weeks late, but I just got the photos off Rose-Marie’s camera yesterday.  (o;

Rose-Marie gave her own birthday party!  She invited a whole slew of friends for a big noon meal, complete with a delicious cream filled mango cake!  Each piece of cake had a little Swedish flag on it!

Of course, we had to go sing the Swedish birthday song to her at daybreak, flowers in hand.  Normally we should wake her up with the song, but we were a little late and she was up and doing email on her balcony veranda when we arrived to sing to her.

She also celebrated by inviting the WHOLE hospital staff and MORE to a coffee break at her house at 10 a.m.  What a sweet lady with a great BIG heart!

She celebrated by giving and laughing and giving and enjoying friends and giving some more!

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
