Just chillin’

blog w feel like

This little guy (photo courtesy of Timothy C.)is doing what we all need to do.  Chillin’!  Worrying or flustering are pretty useless in terms of changing things, especially country sized things.  I really like this comment from our dear friend and colleague AND father-in-law to our oldest son:

“To be honest, it does get old living as if you might have to run at any moment. In your heart, you ignore the threat and live normally. Life requires that. However, in your head or conscience, a small voice keeps telling you that to be responsible you must take “reasonable” precautions. And that is where it gets knotty. What is reasonable?????? Of course, without the ability to predict the future, “reasonable”, to my way of thinking, means just acting sensibly in the light of what you know at the moment. What that means, bottom line, is lots of prayer. Prayer is really the ONLY measure we can take with any real power to affect the outcome.”

Please keep praying with us, that C.A.R. would become stable, that healing would come to this people and this land.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
