Watch out Walmart

new-store
Well, I thought you might be interested to know there’s a new store going up on the entry road to our hospital mission station! I was glad to see that they have installed a ramp, because two days ago I was thinking you might need hiking boots and grappling hooks to go shopping! Talk about not making your store user friendly, especially with so much competition within 20 yards. Note the barber shop, complete with a signboard with haircut choices, UP the hill to the left of the store. Watch out Walmart and Supercuts!

Here’s a picture of an established store just up the road from the new one, in case you wanted to have an idea of our possible purchases. We have a veritable strip mall on our entry road, complete with fast food. Fried dough balls (sort of like donuts) and porridge and boiled peanuts are the most sought after items right now.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
