Wow! We have been in the USA for a whole week. We left Colombia July 14th and had a smooth day of travel, arriving to Seattle after a 15 hour day.
Our first stop is the Seattle area. Here, we have already had the opportunity to visit a supporting church, catch up with friends, and be the recipients of wonderful hospitality. We are grateful to be staying in the home of a wonderful family, who have a panoramic view of the Puget Sound. It has been restorative to sit on the deck and walk around the neighborhood and look out on the water.
On Sunday we had the opportunity to visit Praise Covenant Church in Tacoma, WA. What a wonderful morning of worship, where Katie was able to preach on Romans 12 and the invitation to experience life transformation. After the service we enjoyed a lunch hosted by the Global Outreach team and had great conversations with people from the church. The food was yummy too.
On Monday, we met a friend who is also a fellow colleague and peacemaker at the Sunrise Visitor Center in Mt. Rainier and spent the day hiking the Fremont Trail (7 total miles). The views were breathtaking. It was such a fun day for us as a family to be in nature and have time with Andy. Our hearts were full and our feet tired.
This week we continue to meet with friends and supporters and the boys are establishing a routine of working on school projects they have for the next four months. Grateful for the flexibility and personalized nature of their school that allows them to have these experiences.
On Sunday we will be sharing at Kent Covenant Church, both in the service and at a lunch afterwards.
Appreciate your prayers as we continue in Washington for the next 2 weeks.
