Looking back and dreaming for the future

This weekend we were privileged to host friends from Norway and Bogota who were in town for meetings. On Saturday and Sunday we had time to be together and talk about everything from life and family to youth ministry and discipleship. Sunday we hosted a lunch at our apartment and it was a time to reflect on youth ministry in the Covenant Church in Colombia. The majority of people gathered had some significant role to play in shaping the national and regional youth ministry from its beginning. Oscar is currently the president of the national youth organization and he shared with us some of the challenges and dreams going into the future. Together we reflected on what were some of the highlights from the past and what are some of the needs moving into the future. Discipleship and formation were words that kept coming up over and over again, as well as relationships. We talked about the importance of having people who will pour into the lives of youth and young adults in the small towns, rural areas, and big cities of Colombia. We are blessed to be a part of these conversations and look forward to the ways that we can partner in the process of forming youth and young adult leaders in Colombia. We are reminded over and over again of the privilege it is to work in a team.
