Wisconsin

This month we had two weekend visits to Wisconsin and we’re overwhelmed by the hospitality and support we received. The first trip was to a church in Sheboygan and from the moment we arrived we were welcomed and made to feel right at home. This was a handmade card that was waiting for us at the place we were staying.

A beautiful hand made card

We had the opportunity to have dinner with one of the church members and hear her incredible story of coming to faith after 50 years of walking away from the church. The next morning we joined in the worship service and were able to share the story of our faith journey and call to serve in Colombia. The day concluded with a potluck and we were really blown away by the support and encouragement we felt. We are so thankful for churches like this who have committed to partnering with us.

Last weekend Julio and Sam drove to Milwaukee to visit churches. I stayed home with Ben who had come down with a bad virus. Julio said he and Sam had a great time at the churches and again felt to encouraged and affirmed. One of the churches in Milwaukee was kicking off it’s Vacation Bible School and the theme of the week was going to be Colombia!! So they had set up a market place, turned the sanctuary into an airplane, and even made a big typical Colombian style bus (chiva) out of cardboard that people, including Sam got to paint. Julio shared about his life in Colombia and the desire to return to Colombia and serve. Rumor has it he had people laughing 🙂

Julio also had the opportunity to preach at another church in the afternoon and had really great conversations with people. Just as in Sheboyan the guys experienced such hospitality and felt incredible support. It ended up being a great day and one where we experienced God’s faithfulness through the church. Please pray for us as we continue to travel in the upcoming months!
