A night to remember

This past week our whole family was in Estes Park, CO for the Covenant’s Annual Meeting. Katie, her mom, and the boys got out there a week earlier to participate in the Feast (a spiritual life conference for the whole family) and were busy serving in children’s ministry. Julio and Katie’s dad took the long way out and drove from MN to Colorado to arrive in time for the commissioning service.

The commissioning service was yet another confirmation of our ministry in Colombia and another step closer to making it a reality. It started by us processing in with the Colombian flag!

Proudly carrying the Colombian flag

Then, we were presented along with other missionaries who will be leaving for countries all around the world. We were able to share a little about the ways we’ll be serving and then had the hugest blessing of people from the floor standing up, surrounding us, and laying hands on us to pray. We had family, friends, and people we’d never met praying for us. It was an incredible moment; one we’ll never forget. To see it, visit: http://covchurch.tv/am2011-tues-pm/ Our interview starts at about minute 28.

We continue to pray that God will open up the doors for us to return to Colombia and are encouraged by the individuals and churches who have come forward to show their support. We’re getting closer to 50% of our 2 year goal. Praise God. Please pray that the goal would be met so we can serve in Colombia.
